Selecting the correct position for a JobClock

Positioning the jobclock(s) in your shop is extremely important to ensure that staff are without excuse to clock onto the correct job effectively. The jobclock should be positioned in a safe place (free from the potential of accidental damage) 1.6m from the floor in a place which is always easily accessible. We strongly suggest demarcating a path to the clock to ensure that getting to the clock is kept free from obstacles.
The ideal place selected for the jobclock should be where the technician naturally is (or will pass) immediately prior to starting a job. For the prep bay or spray booth, this would be immediately outside the access point. In the panel beating section that has no definitive boundary, an ideal place is next to the work bench.
Structural pillars make convenient places to mount the clock as they protrude from the wall (or are in high-traffic spaces). Ensure that the clock position is on the side (not the front) of the pillar (if the pillar is adjacent to the wall) or, in the case of an exposed pillar, on the side that is least exposed to traffic (human and vehicular).
