ODBC Connection Details

When connecting Veculim  to a Firebird database, you might want to test the database connection details, by using the ODBC Data Source Administrator. This can be run from the C:\Windows\SysWOW64 folder on a 64 Bit computer or the C:\Windows\System32 folder on a 32 Bit computer.

Fill in a Data Source Name. This could be used to identify the Firebird ODBC connection setup.

Enter the Database path using one of the following, depending on your current setup:

Veculim Server Firebird Server Firebird Client Data Path
    Win32.png Server32.png Client32.png
    \\optimus\C:\ProgramData\Veculim\SharedData\Live.fdb
    \\192.168.2.40\C:\ProgramData\Veculim\SharedData\Live.fdb
    Win32.png Server32.png Client32.pngClient64.png
    Win64.png Server32.pngServer64.png Client32.pngClient64.png
    \\optimus\C:\ProgramData\Veculim\SharedData\Live.fdb
    Win64.png Server32.pngServer64.png Client32.png \\192.168.2.40\C:\ProgramData\Veculim\SharedData\Live.fdb

Please Note: Substitute host name & IP address with your own.

Enter the Database Account as SYSDBA and the  Password: masterkey as masterkey.

Now, you can click on the Test Connection button.

    Troubleshooting Notes:

Keep in mind your connection will fail out if:

    • The required ODBC drivers are not installed. If not installed, the install can be found in the Veculim Program folder.
    • Ensure that the Firebird Service is running. This can be checked in your Control Panel under Firebird Server Manager.
    • Ensure that the client dll's have been installed in the C:\Windows\Sysm32 or SysWOW64, depending on whether you are using a 32bit or 64bit. Also ensure that they are not perhaps an outdated version. If not sure, remove the client dll's and re-install the client drivers.
